No doubt, this is the best chinese restaurant in this area, and I have tried them all! Everything is cooked fresh, great seasoning, no excess salt, and, I must repeat, fresh! Most of the times I 've been delivered extremely salty, stale tasting food by most of the other chinese joints around here... So I'm thrilled I found Wok Deli. Definitely recommended! 11/10/14 update: unfortunately, I have to update my review, because I don't wan't people to feel I misrepresented this restaurant. At that time, Wok Deli delivered good food with good service. I'm sorry to say that at present, they have gone from very good to absolutely subpar. Awful lagging service and the food, nothing to talk about. Blah. What happened?

Usually I avoid places that have very few reviews and now I remember why. I ordered one egg roll, beef teriyaki, rangoons and General Tso's chicken. I should have known better when the menu just said "rangoons" they arrived doughy in the middle and over fried on the outer corners. The filling was maybe a 1/4 of a teaspoon of just plain cream cheese. So disappointing. The egg roll was overly fried, greasy, and the inside was filled with a red tinted mystery concoction that was mushy. The 2 beef teriyaki were a joke. Should have been listed as beef teriyaki jerky. Two strips of tough dry flavorless beef on a stick, cold and gross. Didn't even eat half of one. The General Tso chicken was palatable but overly sauced and breaded. I know better now and will stick to ABC Seafood Chinese restaurant in the future.

This review is only covering my experience of ordering delivery from here. I was excited to find Wok Deli. Since moving to St Pete in Sept 2013, I've been trying to find a delivery Chinese place similar to Takee Outee in Oldsmar or Tokyo on Hillsborough Ave in Tampa. I found Wok Deli when googling "Chinese delivery online order." Despite the less-than-good reviews on here, I decided to give it a shot as I was stranded at home, with a baby, and no car. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken, an eggroll and an order of chicken lo mein. The lo mein was extremely salty. Unreal salty and almost inedible. The vegetables inside were bamboo shoots, onions and some pathetic little carrot shreds. No mushrooms, pea pods or brocolli like other places. The chicken itself tasted fine but the saltiness of the noodles was off-putting. The eggroll was OK, not bad. The sweet and sour chicken was either overcooked or the oil used to fry it was old. It was very bland and rock hard when I bit into it. I ate maybe 1/4 of my food and ended up tossing the rest in the trash. The delivery driver who brought my food was odd. First, he didn't have a pen for me to sign the slip. No problem, I turned to shut the door to grab one. Before I could get the door shut, he was half through my front door. Weird, considering I didn't invite him in. I told him to please wait outside and he respected that but WTF. It makes me wonder if the "no pen" thing was a scam to try and get people to let him inside? I don't know but I just signed my slip and dismissed him. Very weird. Overall, I would not order from here again. Food wasn't good in the slightest and the weird incident with the driver are enough to make me continue my hunt for a good delivery Chinese place in my zipcode.

I have to say. I'm very, very disappointed. It took over an hour to get my food. The delivery driver called and had me come outside, drove by and gave me my food and took my money without asking if I wanted change. The bag was leaking all over me. I ordered pork chow mien and fried rice. When I got my food, the only good thing about it was the rice. I will never be ordering from here again. I'd give negative stars if I could.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE!! Worst food ever. We ordered pad Thai extra spicy, red chicken curry, and soup. The soup never came, the red chicken should be called the bell pepper curry because there were literally 4 small peaces of chicken. Last but definitely not least, the pad Thai. The pad Thai noodles where so under cooked that you couldn't chew it. It wasn't even extra spicy. It was extra sweet instead. We called to have it corrected and they sent the soup and another pad Thai. When the food arrived, the pad Thai was plane. They did not put the sauce on it. It was plane noodles chicken and chopped peanuts. If I could give no stars I would.

My husband and I decided to try this place even after reading some not so great reviews. We were pleasantly surprised. We ordered Pad Thai, which was really good, dumplings - awesome, shrimp egg rolls were good too. They are really nice people here. Very helpful. We hadn't ordered from here before and the lady who took my order was very patient, helpful, sweet and helped me decide what to order. I will say minus 1 star for their sucky door! Luckily they help you out on the way out and open the door for you lol. The prices are fair for the amount of food you receive. Overall, we will order from here again in the future. The Pad Thai really was good!

I so wanted this place to be as good as a few people here on yelp mentioned. This place is located in a huge strip mall with a lot of vacancy. I ordered crab rangoon, Mongolian beef, and pork chow mein. Their crab rangoon was straight cream cheese....no crab meat, no scallion. The skin was soggy and doughy. Both the chow mein and Mongolian beef were drenched in the sauces. Are they trying to kill me with all the sodium they put in their sauces?? I thought chow mein is a noodle dish but there was not any noodle in mine. Throughout the entire meal, I found little meat in everything. I understand this is a typical Chinese takeout place. However I expected so much more from the reviews I saw. I know good Chinese food and this isn't it at all. P.S. The service is good. The food came out within a reasobale time.

Just discovered this place and a big plus is that it's close to our house. I was super skeptical b/c the location just seems so marginal, but my husband encouraged me to try it. I LOVED their chicken red curry. Honestly the best I've ever had. I loved that they used fresh vegetables and the spicyness of the sauce was just perfect -- for me anyway. Realize this is an individual thing. I also love that they have small and large portions. The small was perfect for me, and cheap (I think about $5). On the downside, my husband was less than bowled over by his egg roll (a bit soggy) and egg drop soup (somewhat bland and uninteresting). But we will definitely try it again. Super friendly service and owner.

Have been going to the wok for at least 15 year after today I will never go again. The food was extremely salty the rice was super hard and crunchy. All the food had a taste of burnt pans my order was wrong due to a baby crying in the background. All I can say Is wow!!!!

Wok Deli is the best Chinese takeout we've had since living in St. Petersburg for the past 7 years. The General Tso's chicken is so great, the chicken is hand-cut and breaded, not oily at all, and tremendously flavorful sauce. I have had their House Lo Mein and it's such a great blend of veggies and meat and seafood. The staff is great, very friendly and accommodating with taking out onion or other items from my husband's order, since he does not like most vegetables. Highly recommend this place!

I go to Wok deli often on Thursday night! Their egg rolls are homemade. The service is friendly and the food is delicious! It's my favorite Chinese food in the Tampa Bay area, but you wouldn't know it by looking at the decor. It's a typical mom and pop's joint where it looks like a greasy spoon, but then is great. I haven't their crab rangoon, but I'm surprised about the comment that the skin was soggy and doughy and only had cream cheese inside. That would be worth asking the owners about because it doesn't sound like them. And I'm also surprised about the comment about saltiness. I have found their food to be less salty than other Chinese joints. If you want a cheap meal that tastes healthy and doesn't leave you feeling heavy afterwards, this is the place to go. It's in a not-so-beautiful location as noted previously, but that's what makes it one of the best kept secrets in St Pete!
